searchable right on their Web site. To access this database for the state

Heear, hear. There have been some landmark legislation proposed to bring
certain information services to the Internet. Perhaps we need to encourage
legislators to craft such a bill that will require all public records
information to be available for free via state Internets. Radical, I
know....but it would make life so much easier.
