Subj: 040$beng in NAF records

RLG was informed that NACO participants should now be following the
LC practice of including "$beng" in the 040 field on new NAF
records.  As of Friday, March 19, 1999, this value is now
automatically supplied when new NAF records are created in RLIN
Authorities.  In addition, this value is also supplied when NARs or
SARs are automatically generated using the RLIN Authority Record
Assistant.

RLIN NACO participants should contact the RLG Information Center
