<Rick Rinehart asked>

.....(speaking of which; Michael have you or
anyone on the list used the Apache web server's XML features to serve EAD?
Does it enable searching - or just EAD-HTML translation?)

We do not now use Apache. However, in reviewing the documentation, it
appear that the Cocoon "package" simply provides an XML to HTML
tranformation on the fly using an XSL style sheet. It is not a database.

Other applicatons may work with other htpp server software. Microsoft has a
solution for its IIS software. SAXON can be used with other packages as
well I believe.
