Dear PCC participants and especially PCC liaisons:
Two items to be aware of:
1. The PCC governance has been amended to regularize the terms of
office for NACO,
BIBCO, and CONSER representatives to the PCC Policy Committee (PoCo)
from a two-year
to a three-year term. The change in length of term was approved by the
PoCo on
May 21, 1999.
2. A ballot has been mailed, in accordance with the PCC governance
document, to
the directors of PCC institutions instructing them to select
representatives to serve
on the PoCo from October 1999 through September 2002. The PCC requests
that:
* directors of BIBCO institutions vote for one representative each for
BIBCO and NACO
* directors of CONSER institutions vote for one representative for NACO
and two
representatives for CONSER (one to fill the rotating position and
another to fill
the position vacated unexpectedly by Marietta Plank)
* directors of participating NACO institutions vote for one NACO
representative
* directors of institutions who participate in BIBCO, CONSER, and NACO
vote for
candidates in all categories.
This year the candidates are:
BIBCO INSTITUTIONS: REPRESENTED BY:
Brigham Young University Carla Kupitz
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill Larry Alford
CONSER INSTITUTIONS
Center for Research Libraries Marjorie E. Bloss
Government Printing Office Thomas A. Downing
New York Public Library Karen Hsu
NACO INSTITUTIONS:
Eastman School of Music Jennifer Bowen
Hebrew NACO (Brandeis University) Rosalie Katchen
The voting deadline has been set for June 16, 1999. As the PCC liaison
for your institution, the Secretariat requests that you assure
that a vote from your institution is cast; every vote counts
and makes a difference.
