Has anyone on this list yet referenced the "Measure of a Man" episode of
Star Trek: The Next Generation? Data was athe subject of a hearing to
determine whether he had rights or was merely property. Picard won the case
for him by pointing out that it would be wrong to treat him and his kind as
slaves.
