POSITION: Research Department Assistant
Assists the Research Department through organizational,
technical and administrative activities. Serves as department contact
for the receipt, assignment and tracking of research requests.
Maintains research request database and prepares statistical reports.
Provides clerical and general research assistance to the Research
Librarians. Provides administrative support to the Assistant
Librarian for Research Services and serves as backup secretary to the
Librarian of the Court.
Bachelor's degree and secretarial or clerical
experience required. Library, research and/or paralegal experience
highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform effectively,
efficiently and courteously in high-pressure public service
environment required. Excellent verbal and written communication
abilities and mature interpersonal skills required. Excellent
organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and to be
flexible under competing demands required. Proficiency with word
processing, spreadsheets and other office technology required.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft
Access, desirable. Familiarity with Library automation and electronic
databases supporting full-text management, imaging and bibliographic
services highly desirable. Familiarity with Library resources and
procedures and general information retrieval skills highly desirable.
