RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and conduct
training courses and conference
presentations that will enable Amigos members to use
the Internet as an information,
promotional, and publishing resource; serve as staff
resource; provide consulting to
libraries on Internet use and other electronic
information resources; write newsletter
articles; respond to member requests for operational
information by telephone, on-site
visits and letters; assist in marketing Amigos and
OCLC services; prepare statistical and
narrative reports; and represent Amigos at appropriate
state, regional and national
meetings.
REQUIREMENTS: MLS from an ALA-accredited college or
university. Three years
progressively responsible professional-level
experience. Broad Internet proficiency
including retrieval and use of Internet-based
information as well as Web publishing
technologies and standards. Experience in one or more
advanced Web technologies:
CGI scripting, JAVA, JAVA scripting, etc. Experience
in creating Internet-based
distance learning materials desirable. Familiarity
with on-line systems,
telecommunications, microcomputers, and electronic
reference services. Experience in
developing and presenting technical training
preferred. Excellent oral and written
communication skills. Willingness to travel 30% to 50%
of the time. Minimum salary
$35,000.
