Library Director
Base library
Santa Maria, CA
Salary: 36 - 40k
The Library Director is the administrative head of the library and the
onsite Contract Manager for the Air Force Base Library contract. In this
dual capacity, has full authority to manage the facility and the day-to-day
operations of the contract. Plans, organizes, directs, evaluates, and
reviews the library's resources, services, programs; provides general
oversight of all functions; and has overall responsibility for all library
functions including collection development, reporting, strategic planning;
budget preparation and administration; development and implementation of the
marketing plan; program coordination; and user and technical services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
U. S. Citizen and ability to receive a favorable National Agency Check.
MLS from an ALA-accredited program. Minimum of three (3) years experience
administering a public library including experience with budget development,
report development, and reference and technical services responsibilities.
Knowledge of automated integrated library systems, online databases,
computer systems and software, and other automated technologies within a
library setting.

Reference Librarian
Base library
Santa Maria, CA
Salary: 30-34k
The reference librarian serves as the alternate contract manager for the
contract and provides patron assistance with print and electronic resources,
indexes and abstract journals. Provides reference services, which includes
manual and computer-assisted literature searches. Interacts directly with
users to provide training and assistance in using the online and print
collections and assists in collection development and maintenance. The
reference librarian develops and provides bibliographic instruction for
individuals and groups and assists in ensuring that all Mission,
Educational, and Quality of Life Requirements are met to Air Force
standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
U. S. Citizen and ability to receive a favorable National Agency Check.
MLS from an ALA-accredited program. Minimum of one-year of experience
answering simple and complex reference questions in a
professional setting using print documents, online databases, and a variety
of media formats. Experience performing literature searches using online
databases and the Internet. Experience in using automated integrated
library systems. Demonstrated organizational skills in a library setting.
