Celebrate National Geographic Awareness Week with the Washington Geographic
Information System Consortium. Geographic Information Systems are increasing
in importance to government analysis and management. Americans
Communicating Electronically has been a leader in other technologies, and now
is a good time for ACE members to learn more about GIS. The National
Geographic Society has created National Geography Awareness Week. In the
Washington region, the WGIS Consortium is a leader in facilitating the
federal and local exchange of spatial data. November 18 is the day WGIS has
set aside to work with public agencies and the private sector to support GIS
education among the region's youth. Join WGIS at its monthly meeting. The
