Oh, this guy didn't think one needed to look at anthologies very much,
either, at least not such inconveniently out-of-print ones as, say, Judith
Merril's enormously influential, frequently controversial ones. This is as
good a place as any to note an error I made a while back--Harlan Ellison was
editing Regency Books, not Lion Books, when he commissioned ca. 1961 an
anthology of controversial sf from Judith Merril, which project would
eventually become DANGEROUS VISIONS.

That seems awfully dumb on their part. Especially as far as
Science Fiction is concerned. The whole origin of the genre is tied up
with the magazines, and just looking at the anthologies isn't going to
give you a clear picture.
