To all;

The Library of Congress' Network Development and MARC Standards Office,
the maintenance agency for the ISO 639-2 (Codes for the Representation of
Names of Languages) standard, has made available online an authoritative
alphabetical list of 3-letter codes and their equivalent languages (in
English). This was in response to some complaints on this listserv about
the number of conflicting lists of ISO 639-2 codes that are available on
the web. Hopefully the availability of the LC list will settle any
outstanding questions regarding the codes to use as values for the
LANGMATERIAL attribute in EAD.

The URL for the list is:
<http://lcweb.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/bibcodes.html>.

Cheers!

Bill
