Thanks Jackie, this new software could prove very useful for a lot of us. I've been experimenting recently with another Perl-based XML to MARC to XML conversion script and have found myself pleasantly surprised at how well it works. Right now we're playing with how well it converts the MARC diacritics for Russian and European languages into SGML entities and it seems to do well so far. Just a report. This tool can be gotten at: http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/CPAN/data/MARC-XML/XML.html I should give big thanks to Bill Birthisel and Ed Summers for a lot of help in finding and then their improvments to this package. I'll go a'looking for the new tool as well.
