A status report on the pinyin conversion has been posted on the pinyin conversion home page: http://lcweb.loc.gov/catdir/pinyin/ As with any large-scale project, there are known to be errors in individual records. A special team of catalogers is working on these. A particular anomaly already reported has been the conversion into pinyin romanization of authority records which are not Chinese.
