Given Nancy's comments in support of the notion of
a processMD element, and the lack of any discouraging
word, I'm going to go ahead and add a new element
to the administrative metadata section to support
tracking the history of a document's migration/transformation
from its original source on. I second Nancy's opinion
that 'processMD' is not sufficiently informative or
descriptive as an element name, so I would like to
propose calling this new element provenanceMD. I'm
aware of the fact that provenance is a loaded term
in the communities we serve; however, I think it's
the most accurate one, since what we appear to be trying
to capture here is information regarding the origins and
derivation of a digital object. Any loud objections to
adding a provenanceMD element underneath amdSec to capture
the types of metadata that Carl and Nancy discussed?
