MAJOR DUTIES:   The Assistant Director for Access and  Organization is responsible for several major functions of the Library Staff  including:  1) ordering publications for the Justice Librarian's, the United States Attorneys, the United States Trustees, and other components; 2) coordinating overall collections for both print and electronic  resources; 3) cataloging and classification services for the eleven JMD library locations; 4) developing and maintaining automated systems for publications ordering, cataloging,  online catalog and circulation; and 5) planning and preparing funding and personnel requirements for current, new, and revised programs.  In addition, the Assistant Director serves as the COTR for several service contracts; as  Contracting Officer for publications contracts, and as Security Program Officer.
