The FLICC Nominations Working Group is seeking nominations for the next
election of delegates to the OCLC Members Council.  The Members Council
addresses policies and issues of concern to the library community. As
the voice of  the OCLC members, Members Council exercises its
responsibilities in the following ways:
        -Elects six trustees to the OCLC Board of Trustees from the
Members Council
-Ratifies amendments to the OCLC Code of Regulations and Articles of
- Meets with OCLC management and members of the OCLC Board of Trustees
to discuss issues of mutual concern and to make recommendations
-Ensures regular and open communication between General Members and

The Members Council meets three times a year at OCLC's headquarters in
Columbus, Ohio. (OCLC pays travel costs for delegates.)  These meetings,
which are attended by OCLC management and members of the OCLC Board of
Trustees, serve as a forum for exchanging ideas and raising issues, and
as a key link between member libraries and OCLC management.

Representatives are leaders in their library communities, who help OCLC
and the networks plan for the future.  Delegates' terms last three
years, assuming representation remains at the current level. FEDLINK
currently has two representatives.  Last year, FEDLINK members elected
Carol Bursik, USGS.  Robert Ellett, Jr., US Joint Forces Staff College,
finishes his term this spring.  The alternate is currently Ken Nero,
National Labor Relations Board.
