FLICC Meeting Announcement MA2002-26 Virtual Reference in the Federal Library: Policies, Practices and Prospects As patrons move from the reading room to the Web, librarians are ready to meet their needs with virtual information services. By taking advantage of the online environment, federal librarians can increase agency collaboration, share resources and serve the broadest possible audience. In the morning, Anne Lipow, an authority on the changing nature of library reference service, will review recent and forthcoming trends in virtual reference with an emphasis on administration and management issues. The afternoon will feature panels of federal librarians who will share their experiences and "best practices" for virtual reference, and discussions about future developments in the federal global community.
