I don't have any interest in supporting an index that only allows single
term searches. That's just plain stupid and a misinterpretation of the
intentions of the Bath folks. Why would one ever want to prohibit searches
with more than one word in them?

Bath searches work just fine in Word indexes as I've described them.

All, please comment; I don't think we can move forward till we're in synch
on this.

Is this what we mean by "word index"??????????

Or do we mean an index that supports single-word search, like Bath?

If we want the DC "non-string" index (whatever we call it) to support
multiple word searches then we need to call one of these (DC or Bath)
something else.
