> John Homeyard, of Pensacola and North Parsonsfield, ME, died Wednesday,
> November 20, 2002 at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington, MA.
> John, son of Virginia Dunlap Homeyard and James Edward Homeyard, was born
> April 29, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA. He grew up in Ottawa, KS. Following
> graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in
> Germany, Korea, and at various stateside commands. An Officer Candidate
> School graduate, he held the grade of Captain when he was discharged in
> 1968.
> John and his wife Marjorie (Sawhook) lived in Yokohama, Japan and San
> Diego, CA before moving to Pensacola in 1977. He was a graduate of San
> Diego State University with a BS degree in Business Management. Prior to
> retiring in 2001, he worked as a computer specialist for the city of
> Pensacola, Naval Education and Training Professional Development and
> Technology Center, Business Alliance Solutions, and ORACLE Corporation.
> John was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Thomas; and infant
> daughter, Susan Jean.
> He is survived by his wife Marjorie; a sister, Virginia Coleman of Winter
> Park, FL; daughter and son-in-law Linda and James Fitzpatrick of
> Pensacola; a son, Robert of East Lansdowne, PA; a grandson, James
> Fitzpatrick Jr. of Pensacola; and many cherished friends.
> John was an active member of the Maine Garden Railway Society, the
> committee to restore the old Parsonsfield Townhouse, and Sam's Family
> History Foundation. He also contributed his talents to the Parsonsfield
> Public Library and to Par Sem Days 2002.
> A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, at
> the United Methodist Church, Route 11, Newfield.
> In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parsonsfield Public Library,
> P.O. Box 120, Parsonsfield, ME 04047 or to Restoration of the Old
> Townhouse, 120 Middle Road, Parsonsfield, ME 04047.
