Not that I mind, because this is almost how my own code handles it, but
this makes SRU not describable by WSDL?

Also, it'd be nice to be able to optionally do the same thing in SRW, if
it is possible to describe in WSDL. (Surely it can be, as it just needs to
point at an <any/> type in a schema as we already do document encoding?)
