This is a different issue.

Some cutters gradually (and occassionally abruptly) shift so there is
greater level from one side of the groove wall than the other.  Sometimes
playback styli twist on their own, for reasons I've yet to determine,
causing the same effect.

Consequences include a noticeable level change when
working from one groove wall of a damaged segment of a record.  It may
affect other digital processing, since I'm never clear how many different
ways there are to declick, dehiss, etc., - I assume different products avoid
stepping on competitors' patents.

It is essential when using a Packburn.
