The Gramopnone Records Museum and Research Centre of Ghana recently had a Grant from the Daniel Langlois Foundation for the Art, Science and Technology, an NGO based in Montreal. The on going Project "Ghana's Highlife Music : A Digital Repertoire of Recordings and Pop Art" entails the Digitizing of the Museum's Collections of Recorded Ghanaian Highlife Music from the early the 1920's to the mid 1960's and early 1970's. The Project started in March this year after the installation of the state of the art Restoration equipment by the Foundation. The National Library of Canada on its part in support of the Project, seconded its Senior Audio Technologist to Ghana for 10 days to train the Museum Staff in the handling of the equipments. The Foundation is hosting this Project on its website. By this the Director of the Museum, a member of ARSCLIST is inviting all Members to see what is presently happening in Ghana.
