Yes. From the Metasearch *provider's* perspective, the lack of asynchronous
operations is the major drawback of the bundling/serializing approach...
when you *can* operate in parallel, it's hard to justify moving to a
synchronous approach just to please an information vendor. That's why the
standards issue is only a component of a greater relationship that involves
trust and mutual commitments.
