Below please find a submission for a new alpha-3 identifier: Classical Newari; Old Newari.

Newari is already in 639-2 with identifier "new". It is a Sino-Tibetan/Tibeto-Burman language mostly used in Nepal. The new proposal is for its "classical" form.

Classical Newari is not encoded in Ethnologue. The proposed identifier (onw) is available. This identifier is based on the English form "Old Newari", which is not the primary name in the proposal. An alternative identifier like "nwc" (which is also available) could be considered.

The French name in the proposal is "nevari classique". The modern form of the language is registered with French name "newari". The form with w seems to be more common in French, and I suggest "newari classique" as the French form.
