So the trick is getting that data into a form that is intelligable to
the world beyond MARC. XML is a start, but I'm pretty sure RDF is
important too.  Even Microsoft is basing its next-generation file system
data model on RDF concepts (though in its typical "let's reinvent the
wheel and patent it" way, it seems).  See:
