In a sense, this is the actual structure of an authority record because
everything in the record is relative to the "authoritative heading" --
which is what your "person" is here. So although the structure appears
to be flat in the MARC record (and maybe it came out that way in MADS,
too), in fact the way the data is used is pretty much as you outline
above. The main thing "missing" in the MARC authority record is an
actual structural level for the "person". Instead, you determine that
from the tagging of the main heading in the record. But you could easily
take a MARC authority record and map it into your structure.
