Job Duties: Information Sourcing, Retrieval and
Archiving. Serve as a resource for business information needs. Use business
intelligence, knowledge management and library science expertise to source,
capture, organize, and disseminate unstructured information for internal and
external business clients. Build and establish collaborative relationships with
internal CU team members' and business partners throughout the Enterprise.
Translate information requests, needs to direct business partners to accurate,
reliable sources, both internally and externally.
Support Planning,
Training and Deployment of Enterprise Content Management/Taxonomy Tools. Assist
in design, development, implementation and training for content
management/taxonomy tools to support strategic and tactical business goals.
Implement and maintain data storage system supporting library intranet site
through transition to standard IT support and maintenance. Collaborate with
Enterprise business partners to ensure content management and context management
(taxonomy) processes support business needs, achieve measurable results and
accomplish seamless sharing of information.
Provide Project Consultation
on Knowledge Management/Market Intelligence Data Gathering Business Processes.
Consult with internal business clients to define, document, and manage processes
to capture and manage information. This includes the internal processes
necessary to index, retrieve, and disseminate information important to the
Enterprise, such as marketing, policy, competitive, medical, industry and
competitive information; and archiving and categorizing information in an
understandable and meaningful format useable by BCBSF
employees.
Information Dissemination and Training. Maintain awareness and
train staff through out the organization to use Enterprise content management
tools and comply with policies and standards. Initiates education regarding
information retrieval to support market intelligence, environmental scanning and
public and internal policies. Set up processes for roll-out of knowledge
management applications. Create and coordinate training and development courses
on existing, new or upgraded knowledge management products and practices.
Educate end users regarding opportunities for self-education.
Job
Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience and 6-8 years of
related work experience required. Demonstrated Cataloging experience required.
Library reference experience required. Library automation experience is
required. Must be familiar with online resources (i.e. Nexis, Factiva and
Dialog) required. PC skills (Word and Excel) required.
Business specific
knowledge: Bachelors degree in a related field preferred. Masters degree in
Library Science is desirable. Basic understanding of health industry
terminology, knowledge management and business intelligence requirements of a
corporation in the health/insurance industry is preferred. Understanding of
project management methodology is preferred. Web design and development
experience is preferred. Advanced knowledge of content management/taxonomy is
preferred.
Physical Environment: Must be able to sit, walk, stoop, write,
and file for 2+ hours per day; Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry 11 to
25 lbs.; Must be able to hear to converse, hear to use the telephone, talk, and
read at a distance of 1 to 5 ft.
