The ALCTS Electronic Resources Interest Group would like to invite you to participate in its ALA Midwinter meeting -- When : Saturday, January 15, 2005, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm Where : Marriott Grand Ballroom E Title : Electronic Resources Management from the Field Abstract : We will hear about the experiences from institutions that have implemented or are about to implement commercial Electronic Resource Management Systems (ERMS). Speakers: Tony Harvell (Head of Acquisitions, UC San Diego) Ivy Anderson (Program Manager, E-Resource Management and Licensing, Harvard) Ellen Finnie Duranceau (Digital Resources Acquisitions Librarian, MIT) Tony will focus on UC San Diego's implementation of Innovative Interfaces ERMS - staffing implications, workflow redesign, the planning and standards development process, and the relationship of ERMS to their workflows for print. Ivy and Ellen will focus on their experience partnering with Ex Libris to bring out Verde (Ex Libris ERMS) including their involvement with the development of the Verde functional specifications, data elements, data models, and screen design, as well as the relationship to the Digital Library Federation Electronic Resources Management Initiative (DLF ERMI) Project. We will also have ample time for questions and discussions.
