Network Bulletin No. 05-08 Date: February 18, 2005 Subject: CMLS Index Term: Two CMLS reports for your library Attached are the __CMLS Subscriber Characteristics Analysis Report and the CMLS Criteria Report__ for your library. The reports were compiled at the conclusion of federal fiscal year (FY) 2004, which ended September 30, 2004. These reports provide quantitative information about your library's subscribers under the following categories: age, handicap, language, equipment/machines assigned, county code, and reader interests. The __CMLS Criteria Report__ indentifies specific categories in which data is insufficient or where there is a larger than ten percent difference between your annual report to NLS and CMLS reader data for your library. NLS uses the information in CMLS to justify readership and usage for budgeting purposes. It is important that the data is accurate. If your library has not already scheduled a reconciliation with its CMLS files, we encourage you to do so as soon as is practicable.
