Scientific and Technical Information Center and Public Search Room

As part of a series of orientations to federal libraries and information centers, FLICC is offering the opportunity for federal librarians to visit the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Scientific and Technical Information Center and Public Search Room. Established in 1836, the information center provides information and search services for patent examiners from customized, technology-specific facilities and also provides access to the most comprehensive collection of foreign patents in the nation. The program will include:

1. The patent examination process and the information center
2. Information services to specialized customers
3. USPTO Public Search Room Tour and briefing on the Patent and Trademark Depository Libraries
4. Coffee and information exchange
