The Congressional Research Service (CRS) seeks an Information Research Specialist to serve in the CRS Office of Research (RES), which is responsible for guiding, monitoring and reporting on CRS policy research support for the Congress across all policy areas in which Congress is actively engaged. This position is being offered at the GS-13 level ($74,782 - $97,213); promotion potential is to the GS-14 level ($74,782 - $97,213).

The Research Specialist will analyze and solve highly complex research problems in the context of policy research and research management across the full array of domestic and international public policy areas of congressional interest. Other duties include identifying, compiling and organizing current and authoritative data and statistics; evaluating and recommending new and existing approaches for delivering information research results to the congressional audience and CRS staff; and serving as a reference and information research expert in a policy research format. Candidates possessing an MLS/MIS degree and experience working in a public policy environment are strongly encouraged to apply.
