Librarian Positions

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Library in Bethesda, Maryland, seeks
innovative, customer service oriented librarians with strong biomedical
backgrounds to provide information management, reference, marketing,
scholarly communication, instruction, consultant, and expert search

These positions require individuals interested in leading the Library in
exploring new technology that can be applied to servicing Library clients;
embedding Library products and services seamlessly in the workflow of NIH
staff; advancing the development of shared information environments through
research, advocacy, education, and implementation of information
architecture practices; contributing to the communication and marketing
efforts of the Library; and developing an in-depth awareness of current and
emerging issues associated with scholarly communication and effective
dissemination of research results. In addition, these positions require a
commitment to life long learning and attendance at lectures and courses
offered by NIH and local universities to increase one's knowledge and skills
in appropriate areas.  Course tuition will be paid and time off from work
will be given to attend classes.

Salary range is $43,365 to $81,747 with promotion potential to a salary
range of $74,782 to $97,213.
