The U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC)
is actively recruiting for the position of Command Librarian, GS-1410-14. You
will be responsible for directing the AMC Command program for technical library
oversight which includes approximately 13 technical research libraries. You will have the opportunity to build
the AMC virtual library system and lead a consortium of library professionals in
meeting the Army's transformation goals for technical knowledge management and
training the future workforce. You
will also serve as the subject matter expert for library and information
services for the AMC headquarters.
This job gives you an opportunity to make a difference to Soldiers
worldwide through direct support of the critical AMC research, development,
evaluation and testing mission.
It also provides the opportunity to play an important role in the
implementation of several new centralized technical library initiatives such as
inter-service virtual connectivity and the AMC "Best Practices" program. As the Command librarian, you will
be a key player in the General Library Program, a member of the Army Library
Steering Group and direct the librarian development program (CP-34) for all of
AMC. The members of the AMC

AMC Technical Library System into the pivotal information processing hub for all
