Greetings, All. While I am relatively new to your list, I'm not new to what you do or to many of you who lurk here. Preservation/restoration are twin passions of mine and I only wish that I had more time to work in this area. Very recently, I posted a request for Telcom C4D decoding of a tape for an archive project that I have been working on. I received several helpful replies and three offers of help. The first came from Richard Hess in Aurora (Ontario). Richard responded right away, offered immediate "on-spec" assistance with a test segment, arranged data transfer via his own FTP facilities and turned the whole finished file around in record time. Not only that, he did it all for a very reasonable price and is a terrifically nice guy to boot! While I know that there are a great many capable and nice folks resident on this list, I wanted those of you who might not know Richard to be in touch with him when your next tape transfer/restoration project rolls around. If everyone in business worked as he does, it would be joy, joy, joy... Thanks, again, to everyone who came to my assistance on this project. It is very rewarding to be in touch with all of you.
