I have not heard from Marie O'Connell, but the director of USM's libraries says that the library didn't suffer too badly. Apparently there is some water damage, but she is not sure of the extent. There is only sporadic cell phone service out of Hattiesburg. Most of the lan lines are down due to massive tree damage. The Jackson Clarion Ledger Online has a forum where you can post messages looking for people in the Hattiesburg area.
