I never knew this. Many thanks for the explanation. I've heard it stated that the Edison materails were ok for anyone to use, though I can't say I recall the exact reason. Is what I heard accurate? However, the gov't may not own a copyright for something *created* by the gov't. That is, created with tax-dollars.
