Another instance of "film magic" in reverse.  Studios could be very 
arbitrary especially if it was a matter of contracts or "making a 
deal".  The studio music departments could also have a lot of power as 
to who would be used, too.   And, they probably figured the audiences of 
that era wouldn't notice the difference.
