There are patrons of the Kennedy Center Concert Hall (those sitting toward
the rear) who have complained that they think the musicians are "synching"
to a recording because what they see and what they hear don't match
exactly.  Of course, they are not taking into account the speed of sound
and their distance from the stage.  Because they're used to movies and
video, when they see that tympanist strike,  they want to hear that sound
in-synch.  It's ironic that the only way to make that happen for them
would be through electronic means.

Weird, sad world...
