FLICC Orientations to Federal Libraries and Information Centers Series Ralph J. Bunch Library at the Department of State FLICC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT MA2006-23 (http://www.loc.gov/flicc/ma/2006/ma0623.pdf) As part of a series of orientations to libraries and information centers, FLICC is offering an opportunity for federal librarians to become acquainted with the Ralph J. Bunch Library at the Department of State. Established in 1789, the Bunche Library is the oldest official federal library. The library houses a large and unique collection of unclassified and published information sources on foreign relations. Now serving nearly 40,000 State Department employees, the library's staff and collection support U.S. diplomatic efforts worldwide. The morning will feature an overview of the Bunche Library and a tour of the facillitaties. Date Tuesday, June 20, 2006 Time 9:00 a.m. * 1:00 p.m. Place Ralph J. Bunche Library, Department of State. The library is located in the Harry S. Truman Buidling at 2201 C Street, N.W. (On the day of the event, all federal attendees must bring government photo IDs to obtain a badge from the Security Office. All others will be required to supply a photo ID (e.g., driver's license, passport). Metro Foggy Bottom/GW University Station (Orange and Blue Lines). Exit the station and turn right on 23rd Street, N.W. Use the C Street (Main Entrance) of the Harry S. Truman Building.
