There are some recent news articles quoting a press release from Public
Employees for Environmental Responsibility claiming that a few unions
"representing 10,000 EPA employees" have sent a letter to Congress
expressing concern about the closing of libraries. I thought readers of
the list might be interested since it is one of the few instances of
patrons banding together to make a statement about federal libraries.
Also, some of the articles refer to interesting ROI figures. The
articles can be found in Google news by searching for "Scientists
Protest Library Closures."
