Attention Members of the Federal Library and Information Community:
The online questionnaire for Outsell, Inc.'s 8th annual Information Management Benchmark Study, which tracks the trends of libraries and information centers is now available at (Survey = Outsell; Password = survey) and will available until Sunday October 22, 2006, at midnight Pacific Time.  Your participation will help the information management community grow and meet future challenges.

This year the questionnaire is 33 percent shorter than the last survey and focuses on key benchmark metrics.  Outsell, Inc. will send respondents to the survey answers to such questions as:

-        Have information management (IM) budgets increased, decreased, or remained flat in 2006?

-        What is the average IM expenditure per employee?

-        How many users do your peer organizations support?

-        What do your peers believe are the most important IM services and activities?

Our hope is that a manager or administrator from every federal library and information center will complete the study.  For those in headquarters or central libraries, please forward this message on to your colleagues for their participation.  We ask that only one person from each organization answer the survey to avoid duplicate responses from the same organization.
Please note that responses to the survey will be treated as confidential and will be reported only in the aggregate and not used for marketing purposes.
If you have any questions about the survey or if you would like more information regarding this study, please send an email to [log in to unmask].
Thank you for your help with this important project.
