Major label stuff yes,but indie rock was still analogue/tape,until about the turn of the decade/century,with a lot of audiophile quality records made.We all know about "Nevermind",recorded at SubPop,released by Geffen, that was issued as one of the more highly sought after MoFis,and "Dirt Track Date",by Southern Culture On The Skids, that made both Stereophile, and TAS best of lists.I can supply anyone with another highly recommended list."Psychopathia Sexualis", by The Makers springs to mind. One of the best, and best recorded, rock albums, ever.

moment. After that, most everything is born digital and has had its audio
translated for LP purposes. Some records are still made with tape masters,
but not most. It's akin (not identical) to dubbing Edison discs to
cylinders to feed that minority market.

And Schwann's successive managements keep changing the ground rules for
being listed.

I'm not dismissing the later LPs, just leaving them for someone else to deal
with right now. It's tough enough fishing in the vast ocean preceeding 1986
as the big fish keep eating the smaller ones.
