The Preliminary Program for the Joint Technical Symposium 2007 has been updated. New program information has been added to the JTS 2007 preliminary program ( http://www.jts2007.org/program.htm ). In addition to the topics already announced, the program now includes: Digital Archiving for Motion Pictures, Quality Control in Digital Cinematography, Non-Contact Surface Metrology for Preservation and Sound Recovery from Mechanical Sound Recordings, and Research on JPEG 2000 for Video Archiving. Additional subjects will be added shortly. Register now for the JTS at: http://www.jts2007.org/registration.htm . Hotel information and registration is also available, with a special hotel rate for JTS guests at the nearby Marriott Courtyard Hotel. It is important to register and to reserve your room early! There is a large event in Toronto the week of JTS and rooms will be hard to find. Funding assistance for participation in the JTS is available through a grant from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Funding is intended to assist archivists from the developing world by defraying travel and subsistence costs for those from Least Developed Countries, Africa and small island states.
