2:00 p.m. * 3:30 p.m.
(Registration begins at 1:30 p.m.)
The emergence of privacy as a workplace issue presents records and
information professionals with new challenges. Issues of content, access
and protection are having a multi-dimensional impact in all sectors of
government and business. New compliance mandates are also bringing
security issues into sharper focus for Records Information Management
(RIM) programs. Join your colleagues for a discussion of

o New requirements, such as breach notification, training, and
oversight, and their affect on records and information programs.
o The creation of a culture of privacy in the workplace.
o The legal and ethical obligations to protect information versus
insuring the public*s right to access.
o Definitions of what is personal information and what measures are
required to it.
o Future trends in information privacy.
