Bring your brown bag lunch and join your colleagues for the next Learning@Lunch Series: Washington Research Library Consortium (See flicc Meeting Announcement MA2008-4 at http://www.loc.gov/flicc/ma/2008/ma0804.pdf) The Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) opened in 1987 when the major universities in the Washington D.C. area wanted to share library collections and information technology to enhance the resources available to their students and faculty. This presentation will cover the consortium’s organization, services, governance and funding. Guest Speaker Bruce Hulse is the Director of Information Services at the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) where he implements and enhances various components of the ALADIN digital library system and oversees of the WRLC Storage facility operation and delivery services. Hulse originally joined WRLC in 1990 as a systems librarian to work on the implementation of the first generation ALADIN system. Prior to joining WRLC, Hulse worked at the Brown University Libraries and the Columbia University Libraries. He holds BA and MSLS degrees from Columbia University. Bruce is also a member of the adjunct faculty at The Catholic University of America’s School of Library and Information Science.
