Dear ZNG This is to announce the beta release of cql-ruby, a ruby gem that implements a CQL parser. It is based on a translation of Mike Taylor's CQL-Java parser minus the PQF stuff. In its stead I have implemented the barest bones SOLR serialization of the CQL tree, which is what I needed. The project site is http://cql-ruby.rubyforge.org/ I am not sure who needs this other than I but hopefully it will save someone some time somewhere down the road. I still fantasize about producing an acts_as_sru plugin, that would allow a developer with a website using solr for the indexing to add sru support with one line of code. Not vary hard in general, though a little problematic in my case (www.dlfaquifer.org) where we use only pieces of the acts_as_solr.
