I have asked a similar question to this in the past, but I
am looking for responses from users of either Ex Libris or SirsiDynix
Integrated Library Systems.
How are users of the above mentioned ILS creating
EADs? What tools are you using (Archivist’s Toolkit, Archon, XML
editors, etc.)? What is your workflow for creating these along with MARC
records? How are the tools for creating EADs integrated into your ILS?
Are they completely separate, or are you able communicate back and forth
between the systems so you do not have to rekey any data?
Any information about how you are doing EADs in conjunction
with these systems would be greatly appreciated, especially workflow for
creating the EADs, and how this is done in conjunction with other cataloging/descriptive
tasks within the system.
