Setting Up a Trends Analysis Program for Your Organization

You've done the research and now you've handed it off to another
department. Tomorrow you'll do more research for another client. But why
drop the ball there? Librarians are in a perfect position to leverage
complex sets of data to spot trends, opportunities and threats across
their organization's industries.

Based on a workshop offered at the 2007 SLA conference, this session
will describe National Geographic's
Libraries and Information Services' experience in setting up a trends
analysis program, developing cross-divisional teams and structures to
support it, and gaining upper management support to sustain and grow the
program.
