COPYRIGHT ROYALTY JUDGES ANNOUNCE PROCEEDING TO DETERMINE RATES AND TERMS FOR TWO STATUTORY LICENCES PERMITTING DIGITAL PERFORMANCES OF SOUND RECORDINGS AND THE MAKING OF EPHEMERAL RECORDINGS (74 FR 318).

The Copyright Royalty Judges announce the commencement of a proceeding to determine the rates and terms for two statutory licenses permitting certain digital performances of sound recordings and the making of ephemeral recordings for the period beginning January 1, 2011, and ending on December 31, 2015. Petitions to participate in the rate determination proceeding must be filed, together with a $150 filing fee, by February 4, 2009. January 29, 2009: Due date for comments on proposed final regulations for filing notices of use of sound recordings and for delivering records of such use under sections 112 and 114 of the Copyright Act (73 FR 79727).

February 4, 2009: Due date for petitions to participate in proceeding to determine rates and terms for two statutory licenses permitting digital performances of sound recordings and the making of ephemeral recordings for period beginning January 1, 2011, and ending on December 31, 2015. A $150 filing fee must accompany petitions (74 FR 318).

February 4, 2009: Due date for petitions to participate in proceeding to determine rates and terms for use of sound recordings in transmissions made by new subscription services and for making ephemeral recordings necessary to facilitate such transmissions for period beginning January 1, 2011, and ending on December 31, 2015. A $150 filing fee must accompany petitions (74 FR 319).
