A couple articles from the NY Times recently. First of all, Apple apparently now has more leverage than Wal-Mart: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/02/business/media/02apple.html One thing not made clear -- aren't CD's still out-selling downloads on a dollar basis? So, wouldn't the largest retailer of CD's still have more leverage? Secondly, a hit ain't what it used to be: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/31/arts/music/31swif.html Thinking back, though, in the days when the really timeless hits were being produced -- the songs that are endlessly (and badly) copied by the last two generations of would-be crooners -- 2+ million units sold in 11 weeks would be a megahit. -- Tom Fine
